Step 01 – Goods Received

  • Loaded trucks from India enter through Zero Point at the border.
  • The Operations Department registers all truck and cargo information in the port posting system.
  • After data entry, trucks proceed to the weighbridge for official weight measurement.

Step 02 – Storing & Initial Customs Processing

  • After weighing, cargo trucks are moved to the open yard, transshipment shed, or warehouse based on the cargo type and storage needs.
  • Physical examinations, assessment, and out-pass procedures are undertaken by customs authorities.
  • Bill of Entry (BL) is submitted to customs and duties/charges are settled via the C&F (Clearing & Forwarding) agent.

Step 03 – Loading & Unloading

Once customs clearance is complete:

  • The Port Management team oversees loading and unloading operations.
  • Cargo is moved for delivery or to designated warehouses in a controlled and efficient manner.

Step 04 – Tariff Assessment & Collection

  • The PSPLL team processes tariff assessments, challan issuance, and payment collection based on the nature of goods and services used.
  • Revenue collection follows a shared model between Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA) and the port operator (51% operator / 49% BLPA).

Step 05 – Delivery & Exit Pass

  • Once all formalities are complete, exit passes are issued for:
    • Bangladesh trucks bringing goods for delivery.
    • Indian empty trucks departing the port area.

    This ensures controlled departure and completes the cargo handling process.
